5 Days Uganda primate and Gorilla Safari is the most popular Uganda Safaris experience, it combines a half day of endangered Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park and a lifetime mountain Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park.
This Safari will not only give you a chance to trek Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest but also expect to encounter Golden Monkeys, L’hoestes, Red-Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed Monkeys and Grey Cheeked Mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, Butterflies and many small insects among other Primate Species. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is also known as a home of mountain Gorillas and Albertine rift valley endemic birds in Buhoma Sector since it inhibits 346 bird Species that makes it the best destination of birding expeditions in the Pearl of Africa.
Our experienced guide will pick you up from the Airport upon arrival and take you to your hotel where you will check in and rest ahead of the following day’s activities.
Your primate and Gorilla Safari in Uganda will begin with a briefing by our experienced Safari guide and later embark on the Safari to Kibale Forest National Park through Papyrus Swamps and thick jungle. You will make a stopover for lunch at Lake Nyamiirima Cottages near Kibale Forest National Park headquarters. After lunch you will proceed for a briefing from the skilled Wildlife rangers at the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters and then embark on a Chimpanzee trekking excursion.Trekking normally takes 3 hours or more and a final encounter with the sought-after creatures is gratifying. Return to the Lodge and rest.
Overnight: Lake Nyamiirima Cottages
You will depart from Kibale National Park after having breakfast and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, harboring close to half of the World’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. On your way to Bwindi Forest, you will pass through Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector which is famous for being a habitat for the tree-climbing lions.

After breakfast, prepare for your day’s Gorilla trekking excursion with packed Lunch boxes and proceed to the Park headquarters for a briefing on the Gorilla trekking etiquettes by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides and rangers -tacked in your trekking jungle boots, rain jacket with your walking sticks advance for the activity.
Gorilla trekking is unpredictable; the Gorilla tracking excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Be ready to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, the floor is always wet but exerting and so rewarding.
Overnight: Noel’s cottage Buhoma
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
You will have breakfast at 8:00am and then set out on a drive back to Kampala -a brief stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre to acquire more knowledge of the Ankore Culture and proceed at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe-Masaka for the Uganda Equator experience and a lunch break. After lunch, embark on your return journey to Kampala.
