Safari Highlight Your 8 Days Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Trekking Safari in the ‘Pearl of Africa’ tour offers a wonderful African wilderness experience through the spectacular and unspoiled destinations in the Country including the remote Ziwa rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls national park, Kibale National park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy activities such as boat cruises, gorilla trekking, nature walks / hikes and game viewing. While on this safari, you should expect to see the big five animals (buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, lions and leopards), giraffes, zebras, antelopes (impalas, Uganda kobs, Topis, elands and Defassa waterbucks), abundance of birds and different vegetation.
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will leave Kampala and head towards the north-western Uganda, driving to Murchison Falls National Park for the ultimate safari holidays experience.You will make a brief stopover at the historical Luweero Triangle – the place where the brutal massacres that brought the ruling government into power occurred. Have a chance to purchase an assortment of fresh fruits and refreshments then proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – a place which was set up to restore the depleted rhino population in Uganda. You will be briefed by the ranger guide about the do’s and don’ts during rhino tracking and proceed for the activity that takes 2 hours. Proceed to Kabalega Dinners restaurant for lunch and immediately after lunch –drive to Murchison falls National Park.

Start the day with an early morning breakfast, followed by a fascinating 3-4 hours’ game drive to explore the spectacular savannah in the northern banks of the Nile River where giraffes, buffaloes, elephants and antelopes are seen roaming. Head back to the lodge for some snacks and relax while waiting for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. There you leave the boat and start your quite heavy hike to the Top of the Falls (approx. 1 hour). See where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

After an early morning breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls National Park and depart for Kibale Forest National Park, enroute stopover at Kahoora city of the then Bunyoro Kitara King (Omukama) Kabalega -the currently named Hoima city for refreshing and proceed to Kibale. You will have an enroute lunch along your way to Kibale and proceed to the famous Bigodi wetland sanctuary or you can go out on a nocturnal walk to spot the strange night creatures that leave their hideouts at dusk; the nightjar, potto, bush baby, cricket, tree hyrax, the occasional civet and serval cat.

Breakfast will be served early to allow you prepare yourself (wear long sleeved shirt, long trouser, hiking boots and carry a backpack, camera, walking stick, drinking water, packed lunch and binoculars), before continuing to Kanyanchu visitor center for briefing. This thrilling experience will last few hours before the chimpanzee community is spotted and once this happens, only one hour will be spent to study and take photos of these creatures playing, grooming and feeding. Besides Chimpanzees, other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and vervet monkeys can be spotted. After trekking, drive to Queen Elizabeth to sight the animals enroute to the park,
Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge
After your breakfast, you will proceed to the famous Ishasha sector of the medley of wonders -Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive where you will have a chance to see the tree-climbing lions. This amazing drive will reward you perfect spots on lions stretched out languidly between tree trunks and branches. In addition to the fascinating lions, you will see herds of buffalos, antelopes, elephants and hippos. After Lunch, you will head to Mweya plains for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George with abundant bird life will be sighted, elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores and this launch cruise will be one of the highlights of your Uganda wildlife safari to Queen Elizabeth– a remarkable safari holidays destination. Return to the hotel to rest, have dinner and appreciate the sunset.

After your breakfast, you will head to the southern part of Uganda passing through the Ishasha sector of the medley of wonders, with your Packed Lunch, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park, a home to the endangered Mountain gorillas who live in harmony with the Batwa Pygmies who have lives in forests for generations. Arrive in the evening and check in at your accommodation for a night’s rest.
Overnight: Buhoma Havens Lodge
After breakfast, prepare for your day’s Gorilla trekking excursion with packed lunch boxes and proceed to the Park headquarters for a briefing on the Gorilla tracking etiquette by UWA guides and rangers -tacked in your trekking Jungle boots, rain jacket with your walking sticks advance for the activity. Gorilla trekking is unpredictable; the Gorilla tracking excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Be ready to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, the floor is always wet. Later in the afternoon proceed for a community visit where you will encounter the pygmies of Bwindi-a group of marginalized dwellers of the Forest who have lived with the endangered Mountain Gorillas for generations. Return to the Lodge for an overnight stay.

You will have breakfast at 8:00am and then set out on a drive back to Kampala. This will mark the end of your 8-day Ultimate Uganda gorilla and wildlife Safari in Uganda.
